TRAINING
CONTINUING EDUCATION IN REVITALIZATION
In collaboration with Université Laval’s Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Visual Arts, the Rues principales Foundation offers a complete continuing education program on physical and economic revitalization.
The training program welcomes everyone interested in making a tangible contribution toward the revitalization and development of their area. Founded on a dynamic, reality-oriented approach, the program encourages discussion, the sharing of ideas and opinions, and collaboration among all participants.
Since October 1990, upwards of 850 persons active in over 200 Québec municipalities have enrolled in this program and more than 85 of them have received a certificate of studies—a certificate that attests to the acquisition of particular know-how, both recognized and appreciated by those in the municipal sector.
TRAINING IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE MASTER'S DEGREE IN LAND-USE PLANNING AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Our collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Visual Arts has, since 1994, has enabled us to offer a series of courses on physical and economic revitalization to students in the Master’s program in land-use planning and regional development. Already, more than 30 Master’s graduates hold or have held positions as project coordinators in Québec municipalities.
CUSTOMIZED TRAINING
The Rues principales Team also prepares customized training for different professional groups, and for associations and communities wishing to perfect their knowledge of sustainable development, socio-economic revitalization and heritage enhancement.
At your request, we can offer these courses in your area or municipality or prepare specially tailored training sessions on any subject connected to a revitalization process. Please contact us if you would like more information.
Here are a few examples of the sort of customized training offered by the Rues principales Foundation:
- Revitalization: the steps to follow
- Image of an area and planning criteria
- Heritage management in municipalities
- Assessing a building's condition
- Drafting an SPAIP
- Revitalization projects in Québec
